Everyone in the club has a responsibility to look after fellow members. Please make efforts to make new members welcome and look after each other whilst out running. Other support which is available in our community....

Harrassment while running

Unfortunately evidence suggest that female runners in particular can be made to feel unsafe whilst running. The Leeds: Jog On campaign is aiming to tackle this issue locally. Female runners are encouraged to report incidents to help LCC understand the scale of the issue and identify possible hot spots for harrassment of runners. Mental Health

We know that 1 in 4 people suffer from mental health concerns and we also know that running is great for the mind!

If you or anyone else you know is struggling with mental health concerns please advise them to contact any of the below services.

  • Their GP
  • Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service offers help, guidance and support for common issues,
    such as anxiety, stress and depression, so you can get the help that works for you.
  • For general support with wellbeing you can also dial 111
  • In a crisis contact the Samaritans Freephone - 116123
  • In an emergency contact 999 or attend A&E

Bullying

There is a Preventing Bullying policy on the UK athletics Website http://uka.org.uk/

Whilst we should not see this within our club, if you ever do have any concerns please address them at time or speak confidentially with the Welfare Officer (Dannie Hembra) or Club Leaders.

Safeguarding Adults and Children

Abuse can take various forms including sexual, physical, neglect, emotional and domestic abuse. There are numerous agencies who can support depending on the issue and some are listed below:

If there are any concerns in relation to safeguarding children (under 18’s) or adults please contact the following services.

Cost of Living

  • The Leeds Money Information Centre can offer free, confidential and impartial help and advice on a range of money related matters such as debt, money, energy, utilities and food..

If you need help or support within the club due to safeguarding issues please speak confidentially to the Welfare Officer (Dannie Hembra) or Club Leader.

Chapel Allerton Running Club has a responsibility to report any concerns to the Safeguarding Lead Officer for England or the UK Athletics Safeguarding Officer.
