this is a link to 19th century newspapers - you need to enter your leeds library card number to get into the site but after you can read all copies of lots of newspapers including the Leeds mercury.

I want to tell you about the gledhow pond ice skating accident of Jan 23rd or 24th 1865 - where two people died! in our little lake! amazing how something like that has become forgotten in time - catcha later!

I'm running 22 hilly miles in Hebden Bridge on Saturday. I'm not doing a half marathon the day after!
