Club Championships - 2012
The April edition of the club championship league is now available via the link below. As you’ll see the speedsters, Chris and Liga, have regained their place at the top of the men's and ladies competitions respectively. Now that the Spring marathon season is drawing to a close, there’ll be lots of opportunities for you to provide them with some healthy competition. So why not take part in some of the local road races as well as the Pool B races and park relays in the weeks and months ahead (see Events). Club Championship: April 2012 Update
Summer Training Activities
Yes, they're back by popular demand - the summer running routes. We've refreshed last year's programme and also added a few extra mid-week races to keep you all on your toes. Every third week or so we'll meet at a venue away from the club. The programme is still "work in progress" but will be finalised shortly. For the new schedule of Wednesday night club training routes - see the Training tab.
Our Tuesday night speed training sessions (replacing hills!) will now take place at Roundhay Park (by the Cricket Pavillion) commencing at 6:30pm. Check the Training Tab for this year's sessions.

Chapel Allerton Running Club was first affiliated to the English Athletics Association in 1992. Since then we have grown in strength and numbers, and currently have more than 90 members. The club is based at the Chapel Allerton Lawn Tennis & Squash Club (CALT&SC) just behind the Mustard Pot pub on Stainbeck Lane.
Runners of all ages and abilities are welcome at Chapel Allerton Runners. We enter road, trail, cross-country and fell races as individuals and as teams, and also compete in local relays including Bradford Millennium Way and Leeds Country Way, in which we had 2 teams of 12 and won a prize for completing leg 2 as the fastest mixed team in 2011. We organise an annual club championship. Some of the races in the championship include our own 'Margaret Taylor Memorial Race' following what was Margaret's favourite route around Eccup reservoir; and the Hotfoot, a 3 mile gallop around Chapel Allerton.
Our main club might is Wednesday, starting at 6.30pm from CALT&SC. Our coach has designed 3 route options each week covering distances between 4 and 10 miles, with pace groups to suit beginners, improving and experienced runners. During the winter months we use the lit streets of North Leeds, but in the lighter evenings we tend to run off-road as much as possible. We also have winter hill and summer speed training sessions on Tuesday evenings.
It's fair to say that we take the social side as seriously as the running and make great use of the excellent facilities at the clubhouse, including a restaurant and bar with Sky Sports TV screens. You will usually find a strong running contingent socialising after training or during various events throughout the year, enjoying BBQs, live music and the odd pint or two. We also take a trip abroad to do a race each year (usually Autumn), hold an annual awards presentation after the Abbey Dash race and arrange a Christmas dinner.
FEES
Our membership year starts on 1st May and the full year subscription is £15.00 which includes affiliation to UK Athletics (making each race entry cheaper).
Note: All running club members MUST also be a gym, racket sports or social member of CALT&SC. The cheapest membership is social membership, currently £70pa. Reception at the club has full details of club membership options.
Prospective members are invited to run with us a couple of times before deciding whether to join. Just turn up any Wednesday evening and introduce yourself to one of the club committee members.
