Leeds Country Way

The Leeds Country Way (LCW) is a 64 mile way marked path that circles Leeds and is never more than 7 miles away from City Square in the centre of Leeds. The race is a team relay split into six legs starting and finishing at Garforth. Each leg is run in pairs with legs ranging from 9.7 through to 11.75 miles. Its mainly run on footpaths and bridleways with the odd bits of road linking some sections. The race is organised by Kippax Harriers and each runner gets a great handmade pottery memento that is different every year. More info about the race can be found at the Kippax Harriers web site

The race usually takes place in September and an event will be created when we have the date. The club usually enters 1-2 teams - if you'd like to be considered for our team just click 'going' on the event page.

  • Leg 4 route Thornbury to Golden Acre Park (11.4 miles / 720 feet ascent)

  • Leg 6 route Thorner Lane to Garforth (9.7 miles / 420 feet ascent)
